Face Yoga

  • Yoga NW 1901 NW 26th Ave Portland, OR, 97210 (map)

Join us for a 90-minute face yoga workshop! Just as your body needs regular exercise to stay toned and firm, the muscles in your face and neck also need to be exercised. This workshop will include breathing, stretching, facial exercise, massage, acupressure, and relaxation techniques that will help you to look and feel more refreshed and will leave you glowing.

Sandy Pradas, a certified face yoga and yoga teacher, will show us how to use our own hands to:

  • lift & firm facial muscles

  • plump and smooth the skin

  • relieve eye strain

  • relieve sinus/nasal congestion

  • drain lymph fluid, moving out accumulated waste and toxins

  • reduce lines, puffiness, and dark circles

  • increase circulation and production of collagen and elastin

  • relax the face for a more pleasant expression

  • reduce stress and calm the mind

Face yoga has roots in ancient eastern practices, but it’s effectiveness is proven by modern science. Not only is Face yoga beneficial for toning and refreshing the face, it is also used as therapy for patients with stroke, Bells palsy, and those who have trouble swallowing. A Japanese study found that face yoga may be a useful therapy in elderly people, as it improved the mental health, facial expression, and tongue muscle power in people who were not able to practice whole-body exercise.

All you need for the workshop is:

  • clean hands

  • a few drops of oil or moisturizer that will allow hands to glide over the skin

  • a glass of water

Please note: If you’ve had recent facial fillers or botox, please check with your doctor before taking this class.
